When I lived in Mazatlan with my pransome hince, Henry, I had a "frequent shoppers" card at the Mazatlan Art Gallery. Our friends, Ron and Teri Tammekand would put on fancy shows several times a year, and we always attended. One of these shows featured the artist Ramon Kelley, who was kind enough to pose with us and gallery owner Teri for this photo. Behind us is the painting "The Bronze Girl" which we bought during the show.

Ramon Kelley was born in 1939, and after serving four years in the Navy, studied at the Colorado Institute of Art in Denver. After taking a life drawing class, he was hooked. What makes his art remarkable, is that he paints his subjects attitude, not just their physical form. These days he lives with his wive Mona in Denver, Colorado.
