Located on the beach side of the Inn at Mazatlán, on Camarón Sábalo, both
indoor and outdoor seating is available. Most of the staff has worked there for
decades, so the service is consistently good. The bar has been moved to the
Pergada near the pool, and the dining area is expanded. Happy hour is from 4-
6 p.m. daily, and a Marimba band plays each evening.
The chef has been there for a short time and his personality has already sur-
faced with food to tickle the palates of guests of all ages. They serve special din-
ners on Halloween, Thanksgiving, New Years Eve, and Christmas. We always
celebrate Christmas there with a delicious turkey dinner. They also make a
wonderful French toast for breakfast--or even for lunch. Don't miss this mar-
velous eating experience.
The Old Broadway Café: This new restaurant appears to be a dinner theater
with the walls adorned with large pictures of Broadway stars. There are numer-
ous tables and booths covered with white linens, with roses and soft candle-
light. Near the entrance is an unusually shaped bar adjacent to the stage and
dance floor. Soft background music is played when the nearly nightly live
entertainment is taking a break. The outstanding chef prepares a complete
menu of seafood, beef, and chicken. He creates a superb sardine pate with
small bread as a free appetizer. The café is located at Camarón Sábalo #418,
between the Bancomer and Banamex banks in the Golden Zone. Contact

Mister Ace: Maybe it's because I live just up the street from Mr. Ace, but my
favorite people work there. They are all dressed in tuxedos and really aim to
please. Major, the owner, was a piano player there when the former owner put
the restaurant up for sale. In order to keep his job, Major bought the place and
continues to provide nice piano music in the evenings. He also has Lorenzo,
another terrific piano player that plays occasionally. You can find it on Gabriel
Ruiz
near Camarón Sábalo, and across the street from The Inn at Mazatlán. Its
menu includes Mexican dishes as well as fish, beef, pork and poultry. I recom-
mend the filet mignon.
Pueblo Bonito Restaurant: Inside the Pueblo Bonito resort is a restaurant
that has both indoor and outdoor dining. They have a large menu, but they
specialize in Mexican dishes. I highly recommend the Sunday brunch. They
have plenty of fruit and juices, pastries, and a large selection of both American
and Mexican dishes on the buffet table. My good friend Gabriel "Gabby"
Coppell plays the synthesizer, and his music is worth the visit in itself. Ask him
to play, "In The Eyes of Love," from "Ice Castles"--it is marvelous!
