first day of the revolution against Spain. There is a nice parade during
the day and festivities in the Revolucion Plaza downtown in the evening.

The Sinaloa Cultural Festival begins during the latter half of October, with
imported talent of all sorts. It could be anything from opera to sym-
phony to jazz appearing in the Angela Peralta Theater (by admission
ticket) plus a few free events in either the Plazuela Machado or the
Mazatlán Art Museum. If you haven't experienced a concert in the
Angela Peralta, you're in for a treat. Check at the box office or look for
posters outlining the various performances by date.
