Reading Material
Mazatlán Reading Library: You can't spend all your time on the beach,
touring the area and partying. No one has the strength for it. Take some time
and visit the Mazatlán Reading Library. It is a non-profit circulating library
specializing in English and Spanish literature. Donations, dues, and volunteer
workers support it financially. They will be happy to accept your donations of
cash and books. The library is stocked with over 6,000 books that are not eas-
ily found in Mazatlán. The material is not the type you leave in your rooms for
the maid when you head home. Operating hours are 9 a.m. to noon, Monday
through Friday.
Visit them at Sixto Osuna #115 E, El Centro, at the corner of Sixto Osuna
and Carranza, next door to the Archaeological Museum. The telephone
number is 985-1235. Their email address is library@mazinfo.com. You can
find more information including a catalog of their books by going to
www.mazinfo.com/library.
Mazatlán Book and Coffee Co.: They specialize in exchanging paperback
books for a nominal fee, but have some new books. You can find them on
Camarón Sábalo, behind Banco Santander, and across the street from the Costa
de Oro
Hotel. After tiring of browsing the shelves, treat yourself to a massage.
As you can see, there is something to do for everyone, regardless of age. You,
like most of us, will find that there will be "So much to do, and so little time."
